8 weeks before the move
- Fix the moving date
- Request a quote from bigKänguru
- Check notice period for old apartment
- Secure new apartment (sign rental agreement)
- Create an inventory list
4 weeks before the move
- Book bigKänguru
- Get boxes and packing materials
- Set up mail forwarding
- Register electricity, gas, internet for new address
- Inform employer of address change
- Update bank, insurance, subscriptions
1 week before the move
- Apply for no-parking zone if needed
- Start packing — items used least often first
- Defrost fridge and freezer
- Organise plants and pets
- Label moving boxes
On moving day
- Check all rooms again (basement, attic, storage room)
- Read meter readings (electricity, gas, water)
- Hand over keys
- Hand over apartment broom-clean
- Take photos of rooms and meter readings
After the move
- Re-register at residents' registration office (within 2 weeks!)
- Re-register vehicle registration
- Inform doctor, dentist of new address
- Rest up — you made it!
